Now that all the new album touring bits are done, we (Quality Used Cars) will be playing bits from all three albums at The Tote on a Saturday ARVO with two of our favourite local bands. Really lovely thing to be asked to do. Can’t wait **
Saturday Jan 31st. Arvo Show. Annie Rose Maloney, then The States, then Quality Used Cars.
Pretty huge if you’re asking me. Not that anyone ever does.

Slowly refining their craft in a live setting, Quality Used Cars return on new album ‘One Hundred Million’ —out through Spoilsport Records (AUS) and Like You Mean It Records (US) — with an even more developed sound than their previous releases, committing to their shared vision, adding a horn section and pipes, and lyrically tackling a theme that almost makes it feel like a concept album. Quality Used Cars have always tackled lyrical songwriting with a sense of being down on your luck, an injection of humour, and also a gratefulness to life despite the hardships. ‘One Hundred Million’ refines their craft perfectly, as they expand instrumentally to create an astonishingly memorable and mature third record.

The States have etched their name into the rock from rock and roll with their debut LP, Gimme Joy. From two days in the studio, the band has delivered a glitzed up, red hot record with electric hooks and wails to boot. From the first thunderous track, Gimme Joy serves classic rock’n’roll, licks of twang and 60s, with hints of Shangri-Las and Suzi Q.

Annie-Rose Maloney writes country-ish music about the deep kernels of pain we all carry around in our pockets. Fast becoming a favourite in the alt-folk worlds, Annie-Rose has already supported the likes of Andy Shauf, Angel Olsen, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and
Angie McMahon, despite only releasing her debut album Circle Walking in February 2025.
