About this Event
Trainers: Harriet Foster
What will be covered?
We will cover qualitative evaluation data - how to improve it, collect it and use it.
This is a two part session, the first using a pre-recorded video that you watch in your own time and the second is a live, online session; both have been designed to involve active participation and need to be completed in this order.
Ideally you will have already collected qualitative data in your museum and will be able to work on this dataset as part of this training, but if this is going to be a problem, then some example data can be provided for you.
Agenda
Part 1 (completed by 20th Jan, individually in your own time and by working through a pre-recorded video, with activities to complete along the way). 90-120 minutes:
- Introduction to evaluation
- Introduction to qualitative data
- Thinking about what feedback your museum collects
- The advantages, disadvantages and limitations of qualitative data
- What your data is telling you – how you might use this information

Part 2 - 29th Jan – consolidating learning and reflections so far. 2 hrs. 10 minute comfort break in the middle. Opportunity for Q&A and reflection time at the end.
