THE NEON ANGELS: The Neon Angels is a collective of female Americana singer-songwriters from the Charlottesville, VA, area. Co-founded by Holly Renee Allen and Susan Munson, the group organizes "songwriter-in-the-round" events that highlight women's voices in the regional music scene.
The collective began as a festival to honor and promote women in the Southeast's Americana music scene, with events featuring multiple musicians sharing original songs and stories in an intimate, round-table-style performance. In addition to co-founders Holly Renee Allen and Susan Munson, other Blue Ridge area musicians have performed with the Neon Angels, including Blair Jones, Molly Murphy, Jen Tal, and Julia Catherine.
