Celebrate a night of Blue Note with QCBA, the explosive jazz group led by trumpeter Quentin Collins and saxophonist Brandon Allen!
QCBA have been wowing audiences globally for over 20 years now, performing at prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Ducs des Lombards, Maissons Laffitte Festival (France) and the Monterey Jazz Festival (USA).
QCBA are perhaps best known for their long-time collaboration with UK Soul Legend Omar, releasing ‘Live at Last’ on Ubuntu Music in 2022.
Quentin and Brandon have played with bassist Kyle Eastwood for over 10 years together and continue to do so, regularly touring internationally.
They have also worked with Paloma Faith, Gwyneth Herbert, Natalie Williams, Hamish Stuart, Soweto Kinch, Dennis Rollins, Camille Bertault and Antonio Forcione.
This new project promises to deliver a high energy homage to some of the best-known artists from the legendary record label’s golden period of the 1960’s.
Expect to hear classic tunes by Art Blakey, Jimmy Smith, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, Joe Henderson, Donald Byrd & Herbie Hancock.
Backed by the powerhouse rhythm team of Hammond organist Ross Stanley & drummer Ian Thomas, performing evergreen classics such as Lee Morgan’s ‘The Sidewinder’ and Herbie Hancock’s ‘Canteloupe Island’, QCBA will exhilarate and enthral in equal measure.
Line up:
Quentin Collins - trumpet/flugelhorn
Brandon Allen - saxophone
Ross Stanley - Hammond organ
Ian Thomas – drums
‘Tight interplay and strong solos, sophistication oozing from every note’ - UK Jazz News
