About this Event

What we'll do in this session...

Join shedders Billy and Ian in this hands-on Trade School session learning the art of decorating wood by burning designs on to a wooden surface using a heated tool. We 'll explore basic techniques to create lines, shading and patterns. You'll have the opportunity to design and make your own finished piece. Pre-booking is essential and remember to bring your Barter Item!

We have two pyography sessoins in this programme, but we please ask each person only attends one due to very limited capacity, this will make sure as many people as possible get the opportunity to try this activity.

Barter Items

Jar of hot chocolate.

A skill to share.

Design inspiration.

A tool to donate.

Trade School is an alternative learning space that runs on barter.

Anyone can teach anything they are interested in or skilled at – experiences, practical skills and big ideas are valued equally.

No money changes hands, instead teachers say what they’d like in exchange for sharing, and people sign up by agreeing to bring a barter item from the list (all lists include simple and free-to-offer items).

What is a Barter Item for?

It is way of saying thank you to the host for sharing their specialised skills, those attending the session bring along one of the barter items listed above. These are either given to the host or used in the session.

If you have questions about any of our activities please get in touch with our friendly team at [email protected] or message 07542609623.
