About this Event
PVTV Fringe Flicks: Food (1992) by Jan Švankmajer + Short Films
Fringe Flicks is an event celebrating surreal, experimental, and offbeat cinema, hosted by People Versus TV CIC at DoES Liverpool.
Our second season kicks off with Food (1992) by legendary Czech filmmaker Jan Švankmajer—a darkly humorous stop-motion short that explores the bizarre rituals of eating with a surreal lens. To mark the occasion, we have a stunning alternative film poster by local artist Jomo.
In addition to Švankmajer's eccentric masterpiece, we’re screening a diverse collection of short films from around the world—including works from Australia, France, Italy, Canada, Iran, the Netherlands, the US, and Liverpool.
