Piedmont, home of Nebbiolo, is a wine region steeped in history and tradition. Just the names of the towns--Barolo, Barbaresco, Monforte and Serralunga--conjure clear images and expectations of the wines that they produce. But, in the last decade or so, there has been an emerging cadré of your winemakers who are shaking up what was seemingly written in stone. Not so much bucking tradition, but extending it, reinterpreting it, and--in the process--redefining strictures of Piedmontese wine.
There may be no one better at finding these remarkable rising winemakers than Jace Chaffee, the founder of Vine Farmer. Please join Jace and Mike for a tasting of representative wines from this new generation, and a conversation about how these winemakers approach their craft, what decisions they make through the process, and how we experience the final results. We will be opening 10 wines to fuel our exploration!!!!
