Pushing and Falling: A Contact Improvisation Workshop
We are very happy to be hosting Noam Ben Israel in Amsterdam this May for a two-day workshop focused on the skills of stability in changing situations.
Using pushing and falling as a point of view for movement and physical encounter, we will cultivate the ability to remain stable—physically and mentally—within shifting movement, changing weight, and unpredictable situations.
This is a unique opportunity for curious dancers to research relational physical intelligence:
* Regulating tone and center
* ⁠Attentiveness to the point of contact
* ⁠Moving between stability and dynamism
* ⁠Managing physical risk with softness and precision
Through working with points of contact, weight sharing, falls, and pushes, we will explore how the body learns to respond rather than hold on, and to find an inner axis even as the external structure shifts.
Join us for a weekend of practice, play, and research where uncertainty becomes raw material.
