About this Event

Passages is an experiential program designed to help attendees gain new perspectives on the physical and non-physical world around them using exercises like meditation, sensory modalities, interaction with nature and traditional sweat lodge. Attendees learn tools to help them interact and open to the world around them fully. As our modern society has become increasingly divided and disconnected, the Passages program helps students overcome these challenges with joyful training for mind, body, and soul.

Traditional cultures recognize in navigating adult life people must cultivate and balance themselves through reconnecting with their humanity. This requires experiences which strengthen both the individual and the community. Based on traditional skills the Passages program offers attendees the opportunity to grow in their skills and understanding, and build healthy connections with their families, communities, nature and all of creation.

You are invited to join us in exploring the first two Cycles in the Passages training: Purification and Empowerment.

Purification is a traditional tool utilized by virtually every culture throughout the world. By reducing distractions and removing self-imposed limitations, this cycle introduces the opportunity for personal growth and service through interaction with the non-physical domain. By emptying out and opening to the unknown we can perceive and do more than conventional wisdom would concede is possible.

Empowerment begins after we have emptied our cup during Purification, allowing us to utilize the non-physical skills that were introduced in the first cycle. Indigenous cultures recognized the necessity to balance physical and non-physical skills in a community. When trained to access power in service to others, one becomes a conduit through which power flows to address the needs of your family and community. We will explore responsible, service-oriented applications of this capacity.

Lodging/Meals: Training will take place in modern structure at Camp Pecometh on the Eastern Shore of Maryland Cost of accommodations and meals are included in the price of the Intensive. The Camp house is heated but be prepared for long times outdoors in cold weather. Dress warmly and in layers. Please bring your own sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, etc. Training is intended to be immersive, so please plan to sleep over Friday, and Saturday nights.
