Purely Purple Tea are a new band who blends vocal harmonies and, cinematic yet chill, indie-folk-jazz. While everyone in the band sings, it features Hong Kong/Danish Martin Yam Møller on guitar, French bassist Marina Kalhart, Polish violinist and choir leader Aleksandra Raczyńska.Their sound is both raw and intimate, but also gentle and epic. And their international constellation coalesce into music that distills lush choral textures and poetic storytelling into a warm, immersive experience. Reminiscent of Kings of Convenience and Radiohead.
The opener is solo artist, Horațiu Roman (@horatiuromantic) who is a musician and improviser from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He plays piano, guitar, synth and vocals, genre-bending between jazz, folk, funk, soul and experimental music. He released several albums with original music since 2022. His songwriting tells stories that blend the mundane and the poetic, with humor, intelligence, and a healthy dose of ignorance. Echoes of Tom Waits and Frank Zappa.
Horatiu goes on at 19:30 and Purely Purple Tea play at 20:00.
