Pure Industrial grew out of Nik Panic’s dissatisfaction with London’s 90s club scene. Already active as a DJ since 1983 he was convinced that he could offer something better. Relying on word of mouth and networking the club night made a strong impact from the start soon developing a loyal following. He then built on this and began to put on live acts including Noisex VNV Nation Mesh Inertia and more. As he says «The club is an important fixture in many people’s lives they made friends for life at Pure Industrial some who played live have gone on to have a fine musical career. » Since the club’s heyday Panic has become a respected filmmaker and is now a member of the A/V post-industrial duo Sz. Berlin ± Panic. He’s remained closely supportive of the London industrial scene occasionally DJ’ing and following the latest developments.
Now he feels London is crying out for another dose of pure industrial but with a contemporary twist. He is resurrecting the night in different times but with an unchanged mission - provide industrial people with great entertainment for little money.
For the return of Pure Industrial he has hand-picked two veteran London acts from the scene known for their uncompromising performances. Playing live regularly in London and abroad since 2008 Riotmiloo’s action-packed performances are emotionally and sonically intense events. Think riot girl meets contemporary industrial with a French twist. Tonight she will present her latest album «Blackout » (Ant-Zen) named by Reflections of Darkness as number 2 on its top 10 list of 2023 industrial releases. Nik says « I wanted Riotmiloo to play live because I love their music and because they are released by Ant-Zen and I have been championing the label’s music from day one. »
Jose Macabra was a leading figure behind another notorious London underground club night - Antagony at Union in Vauxhall. Jose brings numerous elements to his performances including electronics field recordings noise and industrial plus his distinctive vocals. Ritualistic unpredictable and cathartic his performances take audiences on an immersive journey. Jose recently performed at the prestigious Elektroanschlag festival in Germany. Nik has long admired Jose’s approach and has selected him to complement the sound of the evening and add another dimension to it.
There is no booking fee on the tickets and the first release is only £10. Following the live acts the action will move to the venue’s bar area open for drinks and pizza until 1AM.
