About this Event
It's Sunday afternoon. Monday is already knocking. There's a room full of golden retriever puppies in Toronto who can make it wait.
Welcome to Golden Retriever Puppy Yoga by Yoga Kawa in Toronto, built for the exact hour of Sunday when most people start quietly bracing for the week ahead.
You know the feeling. The weekend has done most of its work, your brain starts pre-loading Monday's to-do list, and the day you meant to enjoy is slipping away one scroll at a time. This is the hour that interrupts all of that. You roll out a mat, the golden puppies come barreling in, and within about ninety seconds the only thing on your mind is the warm, fluffy creature currently trying to climb into your lap. Monday can wait.
Here's how the hour breaks down:
- 35 minutes of easy, beginner-friendly yoga with golden retriever puppies as your golden little co-teachers
- 20 minutes of pure cuddle time, kisses included, no extra charge
- 5 minutes of sharing circle to soak it all in before heading back into the world
Why people keep coming back
Puppy yoga does something a regular yoga class can't. The puppies wander, snuggle, and tumble around the room, and your nervous system just… exhales. Studies (and frankly, common sense) show that time with puppies lowers stress, lifts mood, and makes everything feel a little more manageable. You'll move your body, meet good humans, and remember what it feels like to laugh on a yoga mat.
A note on golden retriever puppies
Goldens are basically the platonic ideal of a puppy. Soft, warm, endlessly affectionate, and friendly with everyone in the room. They were bred to work closely alongside people, which is why they're so tuned in to human attention and so eager to give it right back. Expect them to flop into laps, lean into every cuddle, and follow you between poses like small, fluffy bear cubs. Expect at least one to decide your mat is the best napping spot in the building.
A few good-to-knows
Kids ages 5 and up are welcome. Anyone under 18 needs to come with a parent or guardian, and grown-ups are responsible for helping their little ones move gently and handle the puppies with care. The puppies are small (for now), the humans are kind, and the vibe is very much "everyone gets a turn."
Mats provided. No experience needed. Just show up ready to let a roomful of golden retriever puppies push Monday to the bottom of your mind for a while.
