Our puppy socialization program exposes young dogs to a wide variety of positive experiences – including different people, animals, places, sounds, and surfaces – during their critical developmental window to prevent fear and behavioral problems. Key elements include structured exposure to new stimuli, creating positive associations, and allowing the puppy to proceed at its own pace. Proper socialization helps ensure a puppy grows into a confident, well-adjusted, and adaptable adult dog. We work on behavioral prevention with all puppies.
Puppies will be exposed to new people of all ages, cats, dogs of all ages, new sights, new sounds, and various forms of handling.
Puppies will be out in a variety of public settings.
Puppies learn how to walk on a treadmill, how to settle in the crate, and on the cot. (dog bed)
Puppies will learn trail etiquette and trail recall.
Puppies all learn basic manners, sit, down, recall, and leash skills.
This program helps to prevent separation anxiety. Allows your puppy to cope with being away from home. This leads nicely into our boarding programs.
