🚂 Puffing Billy Daytrip – Melbourne Working Holiday Girls
Join Melbourne Working Holiday Girls for a wholesome day out exploring one of Victoria’s most iconic day trips! 🌿✨
Think: vintage steam train, rainforest walks, cute mountain towns and a super easy way to make new friends.
What to expect:
- Puffing Billy Steam Train – a historic open-air steam train that runs through the Dandenong Ranges rainforest! Feel the excitement as you dangle your legs over the side of the open carriages while crossing the famous Monbulk Creek Trestle Bridge, suspended nearly 20 metres above fern-filled gullies below.
- Lakeside town – a picturesque little stop surrounded by forest and a lake, perfect for photos and a wander
- 1000 Steps Walk (Kokoda Track Memorial Walk) – a scenic rainforest walk and one of Melbourne’s most famous walks
- Lunch stop in Olinda – a cute mountain village with cosy cafés, bakeries and gift shops
- Private bus for just 11 of us girls with a guide from Vic Bus Charters & a WHG host
- Group chat for pre/post trip friendmaking & sharing pics 📸
The plan for the day:
8:30am – Meet outside St Paul’s Cathedral & get to know the girls
8:45am – Private bus pickup → drive to 1000 Steps Walk
1:30pm – Lunch in Olinda (at your own cost)
2:15pm – Puffing Billy Railway: Belgrave → Lakeside
3:15pm – Explore Lakeside
4:40pm – Puffing Billy Lakeside → Belgrave
5:45pm – Head back to Melbourne
~7:00pm – Arrive back in the CBD

Terms & Conditions:
- A 25% cancellation fee applies for cancellations made up to 7 days before the trip.
- No refunds will be issued within 7 days of the trip; however, tickets can be transferred to another person. Please notify us of the name change.
- This trip is exclusively for members of the Working Holiday Girls community, aged 18–35.
- Photos and videos may be taken on the day for promotional purposes. Please let your host know if you do not wish to be photographed.
- The itinerary may change due to weather conditions, but we’ll always ensure the best possible experience — rain or shine!
