About this Event
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by attending the 5th Anniversary Class of La Cocina de Loisaida and learn how to make Pasteles. Beloved host of the cooking class series La Cocina de Loisaida and local Chef Maria Bido will demonstrate how to make Puerto Rican Pasteles from scratch. You'll learn step-by-step how to make traditional masa with guineos, yautía and green plaintains, plus a rich and delicious pork filling, before wrapping them up like regalitos to be enjoyed during the Christmas season. You will make your own batch of 6 pasteles to bring home to share with family and friends. You'll also receive recipes and instructions for how to store and cook your pasteles. And of course Chef Maria will have finished pasteles for us to sample!
This is a Traditional Pork filling with Traditional Masa class.
