Welcome to the start of the Southland Astronomical Society's 2026 viewing season.These nights will go ahead regardless of the weather, unless the weather is truly severe.
All canceled nights will be posted on our Facebook page and will be posted atleast 2hrs prior to the opening of the night.
We will have a selection of displays up along with a selection of audiovisual running.
Outside weather permitting, we will have a selection of telescopes operating, ranging from 8" Celestron, 10" Meade, "10 Dobsonian and S50 SeeStar.
We have Toliet facilities on site along with carparking.
As we are in a darksky area, if you feel the need to bring a small touch with you, we do request that it is a red light torch, this will save our and your night vision for viewing through the telescopes.
Please remember to dress up warmly
