JOIN us for a Public Sea Turtle Release THIS Monday, January 26th at Higg’s Beach in Key West (behind Salute’ restaurant)! Bring your family and friends to help cheer for “Cookie” and “Icy”, two juvenile green sea turtles returning to their ocean home! Cookie was found floating, unable to dive off Long Key in early November of last year. Cookie had positive buoyancy disorder and treatment included anti-gas medication, broad spectrum antibiotics, fluids, vitamins, and a healthy diet of greens and mixed seafood. Icy was found lethargic off Islamorada early in January. Icy was treated at The Turtle Hospital for mild cold stunning. Treatment included broad spectrum antibiotics, fluids, vitamins and a healthy diet of greens and mixed seafood. Both turtles are back to good health and ready to return to sea! The Turtle Hospital ambulance will arrive at Higg’s beach with the marine turtles at 11:45 a.m. with release at 12:00 p.m. See you there!
