About this Event

Join us on the opening night of Mary Ellen Carroll: How To Talk Dirty and Influence People! Be one of the first to see Carroll's works across various mediums—including photography, video, architecture, writing, and performance—displayed on and within scaffolding.
🎵🪩 Come celebrate with cocktails, live music by the Houston Jazz Collective, and a DJ set by Sean David Bradley, aka DJ Cold One of Ice House Radio.

This is the first exhibition to survey the work of acclaimed conceptual artist Mary Ellen Carroll, focusing on a selection of key projects spanning more than four decades of work, includes some exhibited for the first time.
The show charts the import and impact of Carroll’s engagement with questions of agency and identity, as well as the artist’s exploration of some of the most urgent issues of our time, including environmental sustainability, social justice, immigration, and urban legislation.

The public opening reception is free to attend, but RSVPs are encouraged.
CAMH members will get a private first look at the exhibition during the Member Preview from 6–7PM. For the Members Only Code to RSVP and other questions regarding Memberships please contact Lorielle Anderson, Development and Membership Manager, at [email protected] or 713.284.8264.
