About this Event

In an increasingly digital world, technology is always shaping our ability to inform ourselves and one another, and to take action.

In this Public Newsroom: Inside Digital Equity, you’ll learn from three organizations utilizing storytelling, community engagement, and collaboration to advance digital equity in Chicago’s suburbs. Through choose-your-own adventure exercises, we’ll brainstorm how addressing gaps in digital access and inclusion can further civic participation.


RSVP for free! Refreshments will be provided.

  • 5:30PM -- doors open & food available
  • 6-8PM -- discussion and activities


About our featured organizations:

  • ScaleLIT’s mission is to help adult education organizations secure resources and training so that underserved adult learners can become economically successful, and reframe adult basic education as a critical public policy issue. ScaleLIT’s vision is empowering adult learners to pursue their personal and professional goals, and strengthening their families, communities, and future generations.
  • HANA Center builds the power of Korean, Asian American, and multiethnic immigrant communities in Chicagoland through social services, education, culture, and community organizing to advance human rights. HANA created a one-stop which breaks down barriers for immigrants to access critical resources and builds an informed and engaged community working together to uplift their collective lives.
  • Wright to Learn is a strategic consultancy and learning facilitator focused on bringing equity into digital learning, and learning into digital equity. Wright to Learn is partnering with Forest Park Public Library and Growing Community Media to provide digital resiliency workshops and increase awareness through community journalism coverage.

These organizations are members of the first IMPACT Small Grants Program cohort
