About this Event

Working people don’t need a new Democrat, we need a new system!

Kamala Harris is a corporate Democrat through and through, and just like Biden, she has a record of pushing policies that are anti-working people and pro-billionaire. Both political parties are backed by the same billionaires who brought us this turmoil of war, poverty, racism, and environmental catastrophe the world over.

The Democrats not presenting real solutions to working people isn’t just insufficient — it actually emboldens and grows the right. So how do we fight Trump and the far right? Workers and youth need to urgently organize to build an independent party that will actually fight for our needs, on a class basis, against the capitalists. This means a definitive break from the Democratic party, instead focusing on building movements around labor unions, against the war in Gaza, and supporting and initiating struggles around other issues that working people care about.

This November, we need to vote for the strongest possible independent left candidates, Jill Stein or Cornel West, to protest “politics as usual.” Most importantly, we must build struggles against the injustices of capitalism: in the streets, and in our workplaces and campuses. We must get organized to build for a socialist future free of war, poverty, racism, sexism, and all forms of oppression!

Join New Haven Socialist Alternative, in Room 301 of the SCSU Adanti Student Center, for a public meeting on Wednesday, September 16th at 6PM to discuss with like-minded activists, workers, and students about how we can get organized to build these struggles against the far right, the toxic two-party system — including both parties’ universal support for the genocidal war on Gaza — and the capitalist system itself!
