About this Event
How can public administrators make better decisions when democratic rules are under pressure and citizens’ trust is eroding? This session brings together technological innovation and democratic governance by examining policy sandboxes and AI-based tools alongside processes of democratic backsliding and de-reform, understood as the gradual hollowing out of earlier reforms. Using Romania as a critical case, the discussion highlights both the potential and the limits of participatory and data-driven tools in fragile democratic environments.
