Ever wondered how artists collaborate with organizations, institutions, or city governments to create larger-than-life public artworks?Join us for Public Art 101: From Concept to Installation, a FREE community event designed to demystify the public art process in Northwest Arkansas — from idea to proposal, selection, and installation.
What to Expect: Hear directly from city arts & culture leaders and experienced public artists representing multiple NWA cities and organizations.
Learn the why, what, how, and where of public art — and leave equipped with the knowledge and confidence to submit your own proposals in the years ahead.

Format:
- Optional walking tour or networking (Walking tour begins at 5:25 PM sharp if weather permits, otherwise we will network inside the COLC)
- “Public Art 101” intro by Lucas Cowan followed by curated discussion featuring an incredible panel of art and culture leaders in Northwest Arkansas: Tom Hoehn - Vice Chair, Bentonville Public Art Advisory Board. Lisa Marie Evans - Filmmaker/Animator, ACF Director. Joanna Bell - Arts & Culture Director. Roxy Erickson - Artist/Muralist, MFA. Moderated by Dayton Castleman, Artist Lead & Director of Creative Placemaking, Verdant Studio.
