Sajan Mishra is a renowned vocalist from the Banaras Gharana, one of the most respected schools of Indian classical music, particularly known for its khayal singing style. He commenced his tutelage at a very tender age from the virtuoso of Banaras Gharana – Pandit Bade Ramdasji, and then from the doyens of Banaras Gharana, his father and uncle, Pandit Hanuman Prasad Misra and Pandit Gopal Misra respectively. Swaransh Mishra, Sajan Mishra`s son and disciple, is a talented young vocalist who carries forward the legacy of the Banaras Gharana. When they perform together, it is a beautiful blend of tradition and innovation. Their duets are characterized by intricate interplay of ragas, melodic improvisations, and a deep understanding of rhythm and lyrics. They have been honoured with the prestigious Padmabhushan Award, Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Tansen Award, Omkarnath Thakur Award, Kashi Gaurav, and Yash Bharti Award.
