PT etc is the solo spinoff nu-folk passion project led by Paul Torpiano (Djun, Tact, Funk Initiative), mostly in reaction to a lifetime of carrying multiple keyboards around with him. None of that here, as the focus is on simple riffs, honest vocal lines, and the sound of the piano he grew up playing. Warm, expansive storytelling that treads the line between comforting familiarity and freshness of discovery. Words of life and sadness, and the absurdity that binds them together.Starting off as a true solo venture some years ago, PT etc has since recruited Mike Stivala (Stalko, Vinnie Vintage, Hey Sus) on guitar and (a little bit more than) backing vocals, and the ubiquitous Luke Briffa (basically everything?) on drums.
On Friday 3rd April (yes it IS Good Friday) PT etc brings you BETTER DAYS, an evening that acknowledges the sombre tone of this important religious feast, while speaking to a more current human experience from a perspective that is just ever so slightly optimistic. You’ve got to have hope, right?
