After such a long winter, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra will bring lightness to Peterborough in the April 12th concert, “Inspired.” This concert features a wonderful selection of pieces including:• Canadian composer Mozetich’s Postcards from the Sky that will leave you feeling like your floating above the clouds.
• Canadian composer Buhr’s Akasha/Sky—music that feels expansive while also grounding you.
• Respighi’s Boticelli Triptych which will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into a painting and heard it come alive!
• Stravinsky’s love letter to Italy, Pulcinella Suite. It’s old-school music with a playful, crisp and slightly mischievous twist.
The audience will also be treated to Mozart’s Flute Concerto no. 1 with brilliant up-and-coming virtuoso flutist, Gillian Derer.
Consider arriving 45 minutes early for Maestro Newnham’s pre-concert talk.
