Prosper In Place Business Empowerment Program Launching

Ujamaa in partnership with City of New Orleans, Thrive New Orleans, New Orleans Career Center and Claiborne Avenue Merchants & Business Associationis proud to introduce Prosper In Place, a new business empowerment program designed specifically for entrepreneurs and small business owners in Tremé and North Claiborne.

Through the Southern Cities Economic Initiative (SCEI), New Orleans has received a planning grant and technical assistance to support a place-based economic empowerment strategy—ensuring that growth and opportunity happen with the community and for the community.

This program provides:

  • Monthly Technical Assistance Workshops (March–November 2026)
  • One-on-one mentoring support
  • Financial literacy, access to capital, brand visibility, and more
  • Plus, stipends and meals will be provided to make participation easier.


Every 2nd Tuesday, March–November
