Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant. We are so happy you want to dedicate your time and energy to the Georgia coast.Volunteering with Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant is a great opportunity to build and connect with your community, learn new skills, gain experience in marine science or education or mentorship of others. Whether early in your career and looking for experience, just moved to the area and wanting to become involved or enjoying a much-deserved retirement, volunteering with Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant has something for you. Your skills and experience, in turn, will lend strength and flexibility to our program.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age, attend a prospective volunteer orientation event, and complete a background check as well as protecting minors training. Volunteers are expected to contribute at least four hours a month, which can be achieved through one, four-hour shift or multiple shorter shifts.
