Willow Creekers, It has been my pleasure working to make this community fiscally and operationally sound over the past seven years. We have survived a lot together and my family and I have enjoyed our time in Willow Creek. I have a purchase agreement on my home and assuming the sales process proceeds as planned, we will be moving with an anticipated close date of June 12, 2026. My resignation will take effect when the closing documents are signed.
Tom Lewis has indicated his intent to resign effective June 12th as well. In order to avoid the State taking over the community, we need a minimum of three board members, preferably five. Another intent window for self-nominations will begin on May 1st and end on May 14th at 5pm. Look for that to come from Compass Rose soon. Since we had two resignations in late February, new board members must be appointed to fill the two open seats and the two seats available on June 12th, both at the May 18th board meeting.
In an effort to answer any questions and fill in any gaps, I will host a board workshop for any members willing to get involved. This will take place on May 2nd from 10am-12pm at the North Fort Myers Library in Conference Room B. I will answer any and all community questions about current priorities, operations, board requirements and history. I highly recommend you attend in person but if you cannot, here is a link to join and ask questions:

I cannot stress enough the need for members of the community to step up. Receivership is costly and those dollars are best invested in new fences and upgraded gate access. It is my intention to provide as much training and information as I can to the new Board prior to my departure, along with finalizing a few projects that are currently in progress.
Owners who have purchased their home at least six months from their appointment date and who's assessments are up-to-date are eligible to serve. All board members are required to complete a certification course (it is free and online) within 90-days of their appointment. Existing members are required to take 4-hours of continuing education each subsequent year of service.
