Good morning, neighbors!I hope you are all staying warm on this Monday in December. I am excited to share with you that we are hosting our annual neighborhood cookie exchange on Tuesday, December 16 at 6pm in the Great Room at ANC (1611 E Kalamazoo St)! I invite you to join us for some holiday cheer and bring a dozen or two of your favorite cookies if you can ☺️. Staff from the Ingham County Land Bank will also be joining us to share information about their upcoming housing projects in our neighborhood.
In addition, I also wanted to share my gratitude to those who joined us on Monday, November 24 to have a productive and respectful discussion about the proposed Lansing Mod Pod Community. I also wanted to let you know that I spoke at the city's community engagement event on December 2 to share the statement we created, and I have submitted it to the NOVA Housing Initiative Comment Form on the Lansing Human Relations and Community Services (HRCS) website. At their next meeting, the Lansing HRCS Advisory Board and the Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Board will potentially make a final decision on the location. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for December 18 at 5:30pm at Letts Community Center.
Last note: some of you have reached out with concern about the playground at Hunter Park being removed. Don't worry, they're only removing it so they can put a brand new playground in its place! The last one was at the end of its life cycle.
