About Kendall Cassella:
Lansing-based singer-songwriter Kendall Cassella has been writing and performing original music since 2011 and, in the years since, has performed both solo and with various bands/projects, most frequently with former band East of Every. About The Springtails:
The Springtails are a Michigan-based band featuring swing-era style vocals and eclectic acoustic instrumentation. Lead vocalist and emerging songwriter, Julianna Wilson, accompanies herself on ukulele or upright bass. Her partner Andy Wilson provides harmony vocals, alternating between harmonicas and cornet with the occasional Irish low whistle. Their current recording includes Andy's twin brother Joe Wilson on dobro and Hawaiian guitar. When Joe joins them for live performances he also brings New Orleans style trombone and Sousaphone. The Springtails perform a variety of vaudeville, swing, pop, folk, and original songs.
"Tucked into the patchwork-quilt fabric of Lansing's colorful Eastside, straddling a line between under-the-radar and a few degrees from notoriety, The Springtails, fronted by Julianna Wilson, sounds like a broadcast on an old radio. Boasting a jukebox of catchy heartfelt originals with sweet and saucy covers drawn mainly from the 1920s, 30s, 40s (with a few other decades sprinkled in here and there), Wilson switch-hits between ukulele and an upright bass (named 'Hildy'). She's flanked by Andy and Joe Wilson, each of whom are ninjas on their respective instruments. Andy performs fantastic high-wire moves on a bevy of harmonicas, whistles, and cornet while Joe speaks eloquently through his dobro.
What The Springtails bring to the mix isn't just a clear-eyed revue of an oft overlooked part of the American songbook from the earliest days of recording — they transport that energy through time into the present, where it can now bubble out through airpods and bluetooth speakers. We still have those spring blossoms and we still have the moon. And thanks to this band, we have the homegrown soundtrack too."

About The Good Neighbor Concert Series:
The mission of The Good Neighbor Concert Series (GNCS) is provide a high-quality, inclusive, and accessible listening-room experience, featuring diverse, underrepresented, and emerging musical artists from across Michigan and beyond, where performers, community members, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations can make a positive impact for the Greater Lansing area, and inspire others to do likewise.
Our vision is to transform the Greater-Lansing area into a vibrant, healthy, joyful, and hopeful community where original music and artistry thrive, and where all people are seen, valued, supported, inspired, and empowered to lead authentic and fulfilling lives, in harmony with one another.
GNCS seeks to elevate voices that would otherwise not, or seldom be heard in existing performance spaces, including emerging artists, women, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other minority and marginalized people and populations, along with other artists whose lives and work clearly exemplify and support a more just, peaceful, kind, healthy, diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible community, state, and world.
We strive to provide a safe gathering place where attendees and artists alike can build life-giving, in-person connections, work toward mutual growth and understanding, and become agents of positive change. We support artists and organizations that share our vision and values, and that believe in goodness for its own sake.
Each event features a different nonprofit organization, which receives a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from ticket sales and concessions. The nonprofit partner organizations also have the opportunity to table at the event so that patrons can learn more, get involved, and/or donate additional funds directly if desired.
The series takes place at Stage One at Sycamore Creek Eastwood (https://www.facebook.com/stageonemi), a performance venue made available to the Greater-Lansing community by Sycamore Creek Church (SCC), an inclusive, affirming church where diversity is celebrated and all people are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you at one or more shows soon, and thank you for being a part of our journey.
(As always, if you are having a hard time financially and cannot afford a ticket, but would like to attend, please email the organizer, Tania Watt, at [email protected] in order to claim a complimentary Pay-It-Forward ticket.)
