Truths about Ticks from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Watch for a naturalist roving the CAMPGROUND to explore how to identify different species of ticks, learn about the safest (and most effective) ways to prevent them from biting you and remove them if they do, and get facts about Lyme disease (an increasing common tick-borne illness).

ARRIVE ON TIME! Learn how to identify a few of the dragonflies commonly seen flitting around the lake and then design your own full-size dragonfly that can be clipped to a hat brim or the brim of a flowerpot. 45 minutes

All the Colors of the Rainbow from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

DROP BY to learn about the science of rainbows! Explore why they only appear under certain conditions, discover the difference between primary and secondary rainbows, and find out how to recognize more uncommon types – like double and twinned rainbows, moonbows, and fogbows. Create a paper-etched bookmark featuring your favorite type!
