Join us for a programmed meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. All friends welcome, including non Quaker friends! Quaker meetings are a bit different than your average church service, so be prepared for that. And Programmed meetings are different than unprogrammed meetings, so be prepared for that too! Friends meetings are... well... just that. A meeting of friends. We get together to discuss religion, justice, history, theology, and how to make the world a better place. And while Rev. Oliver Snow usually delivers the testimony, ANYONE can deliver the testimony. It can be dance, poetry, a sermon, a song. Whatever God calls you to do. We are also not explicitly Christian. People of all faiths, genders, sexual orientations, races and nationalities are welcome!
When coming in, enter in silence and take a seat. This period of silence will last for 15-20 minutes before the service starts. Don't feel awkward or weird if you break the silence or if you sneeze or fart or what have you. Its seriously no big deal. Feel free to bring a silent fidget to get through the quiet if that helps. This silence helps us listen for any testimony God may call us to give. And if God is calling you to give testimony during the silence, go ahead and do it! Just please do not scream. The church has tenants whose pets will not appreciate it.
Light snacks will be provided, but also, if you wanna bring snacks, we will never say no.
