The Huntington Museum of Art will present Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but visitors may bring nonperishable food for Facing Hunger Foodbank and warm clothes for Cridlin Clothing & Food Pantry.Holiday Open House at HMA will feature musical performances; a visit with Santa; shopping in the Museum Store; art activities in the Education Gallery; and refreshments. Also, the exhibit of artist-decorated trees titled “Art on a Limb” will be on view at HMA during Holiday Open House. “Art on a Limb” goes on view at HMA on Nov. 26, 2024, and continues through Jan. 5, 2025. This program is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
The C. Fred Edwards Conservatory will feature holiday botanical stations.
Musical performances will feature Cabell Midland Collegium Musicum at 1:30 p.m. roving throughout the Museum and the Wayne Elementary Honor Choir & Percussion Ensemble at 2:30 p.m. in HMA’s Grace Rardin Doherty Auditorium.
“Holiday Open House has been taking place at the Huntington Museum of Art for decades,” said Cindy Dearborn, HMA’s Director of Education. “It’s fun for HMA staff members and volunteers to see community members enjoying the event and appreciating the artist-decorated trees and festive atmosphere.”
