Mr. Terry Burr, and Carson Henry will provide a basic overview of Micron including a brief historical perspective and current expansion efforts for construction of the new facilities in Syracuse, NY. Terry and Carson will discuss typical considerations and challenges that are faced during planning stages and when executing the launch of a new manufacturing facility. The presentation will include general project management principles, best practices, and standard processes and/or procedures. For example, topics may include capital intensive equipment procurement and/or production strategies, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, process monitoring/ optimization or predictive maintenance technologies, workforce training and hiring, etc. Business leaders, entrepreneurs, as well as students and faculty interested in learning about the process of developing capabilities and facilities needed to manufacture new innovative technology products, particularly with relevance to the semiconductor industry, should attend this seminar.
