Cultural historian and TV presenter Professor Janina Ramirez brings her enthusiasm and passion for the Medieval period to the British Library stage for an unmissable free online livestream Q&A event for secondary students.

Introducing the author:
Professor Janina Ramirez is a BBC cultural historian, broadcaster and author based at the University of Oxford with a passion for communicating ideas about the past. As a lecturer and course director, she desires to share ideas, information and inspiration with every student and also open up the subject to anyone and everyone who cares to listen, through the wide reach of television, radio, publications and new media.
A celebrated author of fiction and non-fiction, her books include: The Private Lives of the Saints: Power, Passion and Politics in Anglo-Saxon England (2016), Julian of Norwich: A Very Brief History (2018), Beowulf (2022), Femina: A New History of the Middle Ages, Through the Women Written Out of It (2022).
Ramirez has written and presented numerous programmes for television including: Treasures of the Anglo-Saxons, BBC Four 2010, The Viking Sagas, BBC Four 2011, Saints and Sinners: Britain's Millennium of Monasteries, BBC Four 2015, Lost Worlds and Hidden Treasures, Apple TV 2021.
