About this Event
** We want the Procession Studio to be accessible to all. If you do not have funds to pay for this class, send an email to [email protected]. **
Let's create some big cardboard bugs! We'll provide templates, instructions and inspiration for making large scale (2' x 3' approx) bugs.
You can then decide if you want them to hang from long bamboo poles to carry in the Procession or find some other way to use them in your project.
Join Jennevieve Schlemmer in making Papier-mâché sculpture bugs. These bugs can be flat or slightly 3D and the decorations can be realistic or fanciful. They will be designed to have a zip tie attachment to hang them from bamboo or mounted on top of poles.
All materials provided.
Papier-mâché is a time consuming process. You will be able to get a good start on your bug and probably get a couple of layers of paper down. You can take it home with you to finish it or set it in our drying area to dry and then come back in a few days to finish the piece. (Staff will show you where to find paint and other embellishments.)
If a child under 14 is attending the class, they must be accompanied by an adult but the adult doesn't have to pay for the class unless they also attend to make a bug. (Please note in comments when purchasing because there are limits to how many people can be in the studio at one time and we want to make sure we know the correct count in advance.)
