Scuba Adventure Pro InternshipZero to Divemaster with real shop experience
Program begins June 2026
Ready to turn your love of diving into a professional path
Scuba Adventure in Jefferson City is opening applications for a Pro Internship that takes you from brand new diver to Divemaster while you work and learn inside a real dive shop.
What the program includes
• Complete training from Open Water through Divemaster with SSI
• Required courses include Open Water, Advanced, Nitrox, Deep, Navigation, Stress and Rescue, Science of Diving, Dive Guide and Divemaster
• Structured leadership training with real work assisting classes and guiding certified divers
• At least 120 hours in the shop for hands on experience with customers, rentals and trip planning
• Free professional level cross training during your internship
• Gas blending
• Safe cylinder filling and compressor use
• Visual inspection and cylinder care basics
Mermet Springs training weekend
All Pro Interns take part in a dedicated training weekend at Mermet Springs in Illinois
• Deep and navigation dives in a controlled quarry environment
• Specialty and Divemaster training scenarios in clear water
• Lodging for this Mermet Springs weekend is included in your program fee
• Transportation, quarry entry and meals are separate
No other housing or lodging is included in the program.
Program options and pricing
• Zero experience to Divemaster Pro Internship
• Starts around 3,795 dollars
• Includes all listed training, SSI digital kits and certification fees, pool time and the Mermet Springs training weekend with lodging for that trip
• Divemaster Internship for already certified Advanced and Rescue divers
• Starts around 1,495 dollars
• Includes Science of Diving, Dive Guide, Divemaster, shop internship and the same professional cross training
Quarry entry fees, personal gear, agency pro application fees, travel and daily living costs are not included.
SSI or PADI – your choice
All programs are taught in SSI by default.
Students who want a PADI pathway can add PADI materials and certifications for an additional 500 dollars.
Payment plans
Payment plans are available. You can spread your program cost over several months before and during the internship. Details are arranged individually so we can fit your budget.
GI Bill reimbursement
This program offers the possibility of GI Bill reimbursement for eligible veterans and service members. You must apply for benefits through the proper channels and both benefit approval and program acceptance are not guaranteed.
How to apply
This is a limited entry program. Applicants will be screened for attitude, customer service and safety minded decision making as well as dive experience.
