8. Any motions* or other business for consideration - *NOTE: Any member wishing to present a motion for voting on, must send it in to the Secretary Donna Dunkley at least 10 days before the AGM.
a) Special Motion to be put to vote “We propose to REMOVE these two lines currently in our Constitution: under 4) Committee, d) Term
i) No Committee Member shall serve for more than 5 consecutive terms.
ii) No Chair/President shall serve for more than 5 consecutive years as Chair/President.”
Initially these clauses were designed to ensure our club would not become stagnant, and to invite new energy and leadership over time. However if we keep these clauses, we will lose half our committee this year, and we are finding it impossible to replace even our Treasurer, let alone several other members if they must go. Currently, these clauses prevent beneficial and active committee members from continuing to serve.
