About this Event
Do you know where your well water comes from? Want to know when you should have your water tested and what to test for? Do you know what to do during a hurricane?
Join us for a free workshop to learn about how private wells work, maintenance, and drinking water quality.
We suggest registering so that we have adequate materials for all attendees.
OPTIONAL Bacterial Water Screening
Attendees at the workshop will have the option to purchase a kit for bacterial screening of their well water. You may attend the workshop for free without participating in the screening.
Kits will cost $15 and will include screening for total coliform bacteria and E. coli (reduced price offered for this workshop). You can pay for kits at the workshop with cash, check, or online with a credit card (+ added Eventbrite ordering fee). Water samples must be delivered to the Marion County Extension office (2232 N.E. Jacksonville Road, 34470) between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM on April 16. Samples cannot be accepted at any other time. Instructions will be provided with the collection kit.
