Chine collé is a technique used in printmaking in which thin papers are bonded to a heavier support surface. This technique allows you to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese papers, which pull finer details off the plate. The appeal of this process lies in its translucency which creates a light that is different from the effect of painting on paper. I love the spontaneity of this medium and the ability to combine printmaking, chine collé, painting and drawing. Adding these mediums allows you to add another layer of color and texture to the entire plate, to specific areas, or the entire background.instructor: Pam Wesolek
