Welcome to a day of creative exploration through linocut printmaking – a technique that combines craft, patience, and the joy of seeing your own design come to life in print.Together with Ran Duan, you’ll be guided step by step through the basics of linocut: from sketching and carving your design, to inking and printing your final piece. Ran introduces the techniques in an accessible and inspiring way, making this a perfect workshop for beginners or anyone curious about handmade printmaking.
During the workshop you will:
Learn the fundamentals of printmaking and how to work safely with carving tools
Experiment with different tools, materials, and inks
Create your own finished linocut print – and if time allows, make a second one from your own design
All tools and materials are provided, including:
🪵 Printmaking tool set
🖤 Ink & paper
✏️ Pencils
☕ Coffee and tea
💰 Material cost of approximately 400 SEK will be added to the course fee (paid directly to the instructor).
No prior experience is needed – just curiosity and the joy of making something by hand.
🥪 A fridge, microwave, and oven are available if you wish to bring your own lunch or snacks.
About Ran Duan
Ran Duan is an artist and designer based in Stockholm with a background in textile and visual arts. Her work moves between illustration, embroidery, and printmaking, often exploring textures, lines, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.
Ran’s teaching style is calm, encouraging, and personal – helping each participant find their own rhythm and creative voice through stitches and colour.
