Course Overview:This fully funded course, part of the Sussex Early Careers NHS England Funding priorities, addresses a fundamental challenge in healthcare: how to support patients to use treatment most effectively. Designed for early career Ph*rm*cy Technicians and Pharmacists across Sussex working in primary, community, or secondary care, it provides a practical, evidence-based foundation in understanding, identifying, and addressing nonadherence to medications.Through a combination of online learning, reflective practice, and in-person simulation-based training, participants will explore the behavioural science underpinning treatment adherence and learn to apply key behaviour change techniques in their own clinical contexts. The course will introduce and provide practice with tools to identify patients at risk of nonadherence, alongside strategies to address this in practice. Participants will have opportunities to apply these approaches in a simulated environment, with personalised feedback to support skill development.

Collaboration: This course is delivered in partnership between the Centre for Adherence Research and Education at King’s College London, and the University of Brighton.

Any spare places will be allocated on first served basis to Trainee Pharmacists and PTPTs.
