The Corinthian Singers welcome Primavera with a melange of choral works that celebrates the coming of Spring. After a long cold lonely Winter Director of Music, Matthew Atherton has put together a wonderful programme of old and new works, including Claudio Monteverdi’s O primavera, gioventù de l'anno, published in 1590 in his Second Book of Madrigals for Five Voices.
In Primavera the Corinthian Singers are delighted to present the premiere performance of a new work, Recuerdos de la Primavera, written for the choir by a new member Becky Llewellyn a well known Adelaide composer and a familiar face in the Australian music world.
Also in the programme there will be an A to Z of Spring works, from April, Come She Will, by Paul Simon to Zephyrs, soft their fragrance by English 19th century composer, John Liptrot Hatton, and a whole host of other Spring works including Here Comes the Sun by George Harrison.
