As cities all over America celebrate Pride during June, we will reflect on the empathy that helps us honor all the diverse expressions of human flourishing. Empathy inspires us to build a society that makes room for everyone to experience a basic level of human dignity. The Rev. Sarah C. Stewart preaching.
NOTE: If you are joining us in the sanctuary, Please wear a solid-colored top in one of the rainbow hues (red, orange, yellow, green, blue or violet) for church this Sunday. At the end of the service, we'll all come forward to sing "The Rainbow Connection" together, and Mary Newth will take our photograph! We'll have a joyful picture of the whole congregation. Thank you Mary for being our photographer.
Service Music: Our adult choir will be singing "Part of the Human Heart" from the Broadway musical "Once On This Island" this morning. We will also be sharing two past favorites, "Sorida" by Rosephanye Powell and "Dance Alleluia" by Freed. We will conclude the service by all singing "Rainbow Connection" together. Allegra Martin will be on piano and organ.
Faith Development: Today we will be hearing one of our favorite stories, One, by Kathryn Otoshi and then our children and youth will have an all ages year end celebration class.
