About the workshop: In a time where the attempted erasure of QTPOC individuals is at an all time high, self love remains an incredible form of protest. In this 2 hour workshop, themes of self love & radical joy will guide us into deeper explorations of who we are & how we can learn to embrace the parts of ourselves the world has told us to change. The power of poetry is that there is no one right way to express ourselves.
With writings from several QTPOC poets, we will seek inspiration and create a safe, inclusive environment where we can ask the right questions of ourselves. Who am I? Where does my beauty lie? In what ways can I shower myself with kindness & love?
This workshop is open to QTPOC writers of all levels. As a collaborative space, there will be time for writing and sharing (for those who are interested). Most importantly, this workshop will hopefully allow for a joyful introspection that nurtures the most beautiful budding romance of all. The love we carry for ourselves.

About the instructor: Originally hailing from Brooklyn, Anthony (he/him) has been involved with community writing projects for over 8 years. His identity as a queer, Puerto Rican Transman has not been without its struggles. The writing community welcomed him with open arms and allowed him the opportunity to process his personal traumas in an authentic way. His love of poetry inspires him to create spaces where others can make time to honor their shared love of writing. Seeking to assist others with emotional processing and healing in the same way others once helped him, he prioritizes community & shared connection free of judgement. In working with marginalized and oppressed populations, Anthony has found a distinct sense of purpose and gratitude and is excited to continue this work in his new home of Denver.
