Comedy meets pride this October in Paraparaumu as 2020 Entertainment Ltd presents Pride & Punchlines, an all-queer stand-up night in association with Paekākāriki Pride.This night isn’t just jokes — it’s visibility, community, and laughter. A chance for queer voices to take centre stage, question norms, and connect through humour. Whether you’re LGBTQIA+ yourself or an ally, there’s something for everyone.
What a Line-Up we have:
Neil Thornton
Veteran, teacher, and industry shaper: Neil brings decades of international and local experience to the stage. He’s performed in NYC clubs, Edinburgh Fringe, and rural NZ towns. His NZ shows — Bearly Kiwi, Ursus Americanus, Hot Mess on Wheels — have won critical praise and awards. He founded the NZ Comedy School to mentor emerging comics.

Kipling DC
A 2026 Billy T Award nominee, Kipling DC is making waves in Wellington’s comedy scene. With roots in Ngāpuhi and Te Hikutu, he mixes crowd work, self-deprecation, and cheeky wit. He’s widely regarded as one of the bold voices to watch.

Known for blending social commentary and absurd observations with relatability.
