About this Event
While the risk of political violence during election periods is new in a number of Western countries including the United States, such threats have existed for decades in other countries, especially those considered to be conflict-fragile. To mitigate and reduce election violence, several NGOs, IGOs, and other actors have worked on prevention strategies and tactics using different media, communication, and technology-based tools. The purpose of this panel is to bring together experts who have researched or implemented projects using such tools to identify the most effective practices.
This webinar panel will be co-hosted by George Washington University's Institute for Public Diplomacy and Global Communications and Media and Peacebuilding Project.
Panelists include:
- Vasu Mohan (International Foundation for Electoral Systems)
- Susan Benesch (Dangerous Speech Project)
- Theo Dolan (U.S. Agency for International Development)
A reception lunch will take place following the panel in the 2nd Floor Atrium.
