Harm Reduction for Sustainable Peace and Development

Date: November 1st, 2024

Time: 1:00pm - 2:15pm

Location: 500 First St NW

Come join us for a thought-provoking event on harm reduction and its role in achieving sustainable peace and development.

Further to the presentation of her report to UNGA79, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health invites you to a discussion to explore how harm reduction can align with the right to health and related rights in the context of universal health coverage and with the rights of those in situations of vulnerability, including conflict, health emergencies and climate change.

In her report, she focuses on good practices in different parts of the world and encourages States to integrate harm reduction as part of universal health coverage plans, incorporating comprehensive services that are accessible, affordable, acceptable and of quality.

Learn from experts in the field, engage in discussions, and explore innovative solutions. Together, we can make a positive impact on our communities and create a better future for all.
