Proud to announce our first ever Industry Talk! Good news, ITS FREE! Our first speaker is a Preston lad who’s gone on to achieve big things!On the 2nd of October Preston DJ Social & @ourhouse.yourhousemusic will be sitting down with @pioneerdjglobal s European product planner Sam Shepherd.
Hailing from Leyland Sam works as the European product planner for Pioneer DJ, rekordbox and Toraiz. With over 18 years of experience across various areas of the DJing industry, his extensive background includes collaborations with renowned labels, brands, artists, and festivals, as well as mentoring the future generation and presenting DJ and production seminars throughout Europe.
The talk will be a personal walk through of his story, what he’s learnt along the way and how he got there:
• From bedroom DJ to European product planner for Pioneer DJ.
• The Ups & downs.
• Stresses of the industry, mental health and of course, getting sacked a few times…
• Key tips and knowledge of the industry.

The aim of these talks is to educate, keep the community spirit of the socials, help people think big, and highlight the fact that, no matter how big you get, everybody struggles from time to time. We feel Sam's story is not only inspiring but honest, relatable, and funny. If you want to come down and pick his brain, we’ll have the kettle on.
