About this Event
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, the Department of City Planning, in partnership with Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Park, invites you to a four-part educational series examining how the nation’s founding ideals have been interpreted, challenged, and reshaped in places central to African American life across the South and beyond. Through conversations with scholars, historic preservation professionals, and practitioners, the series explores history, place, and lived experience as lenses for understanding America’s past, and our path forward.
